Book review: The Devil In The White City

The Devil In The White City by Erik Larson is really two stories in one. The first is about the construction, design, implementation, polticis, and social issues surrounding the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, aka The White City. The second is about one of the earliest known serial killers operating in that city around the time of the Fair, Dr. H.H. Holmes.

The two are woven together pretty well, and both are compelling. It's an interesting book, with a lot of history and sociology. It made for a decent, but not amazing, read.
