Wine review: Rock Rabbit shiraz, 2004
Last night Alli and I invited a couple of friends, Iva and Demetri, over for dinner. We had a great time, ended up ordering Thai take out food from Khao Sarn, and really enjoyed it. Sometimes you just don't feel like cooking ;)
Over the past year somehow our home wine collection has grown a bit, so now when we have friends over we hardly ever have to go buy wine in advance. This is nice on a January night in Boston, when it's typically very cold.
Last night we paired a 2004 Rock Rabbit shiraz with the Thai food, and it was a great match. Very smooth, delicious, up-front flavor. All four of us loved it, which is saying a lot since our palettes are quite different from each other.
It's not an expensive bottle, and it's quite a crowd pleaser, so it's a great wine to bring to a party as well.
