Nice move Google...

... acquiring Writely. I used Writely last year briefly and think it's awesome. Easy to use, easy to collaborate, easy to share, version control, fast, accessible from anywhere with a browser: it's the way things should be. Opening Microsoft Word nowadays just feels heavyweight...

I can imagine a world where it's seamless to jointly collaborate on a document using the writely platform with someone I'm corresponding with on GMail. Right there on the same web page will be the email conversation (threaded, searchable) with the document being worked on.

Naturally, these documents will be stored on the GDrive ;) Sweet.
